Rooted in Peru. Refined in Europe
Journey
Milu grew up in Lima, inside a textile family. Not around textiles — inside them.
Her father’s factories. The smell of natural fibre. The hands of the people who made things. She did not study this world, she was born into it — and that changes how you see everything that comes after.
She studied fashion in Lima, then took that foundation to Milan — one of the few cities in the world that takes craft as seriously as she always had. It was there, studying and later working with international brands, that something shifted.
Away from home, she began to see what she had always taken for granted. The extraordinary softness of Peruvian alpaca. The depth of the knowledge. The human value behind every thread. In Milan, Peruvian fibre felt rare. Special. Worth building something around.
She came back with a purpose. DISOAL is the answer. A brand built on where she comes from, shaped by what she learned along the way. Peru’s finest natural fibres, designed for a world that is finally ready to listen.
Philosophy
DISOAL is not about more. It is about exactly enough.
Every piece begins with a question: what does this fibre want to become? Not what we can make from it. That distinction shapes everything. The proportion. The weight. The finish. The moment a piece is complete.
We work between Peruvian heritage and contemporary design — not as a concept, but as a daily practice. Simplicity here is not absence. It is clarity. The result of removing everything that does not belong.
Nothing is excessive. Everything is considered. And what remains, lasts.
Impact
We do not work with suppliers. We work with people.
DISOAL is built on close, long-term relationships with makers, artisans, and production partners in Peru and Ecuador people who have dedicated their lives to understanding Peruvian natural fibres. That knowledge cannot be replaced. We make sure it does not have to be.
Small-scale, considered production. Time and attention at the centre of every piece. Not because it is easier because it is the only way to make something that means anything.
Through Hilos Rojos, we invest in the communities behind the material. Preserving traditional skills. Creating real opportunity. Ensuring the next generation of makers exists to carry it forward.
DISOAL is defined by continuity between people, material, and place.
Behind the Scene
This collection is the result of process – not of concept. It is shaped through material, through repetition, through quiet decisions made in the studio.
Designed between Peru and a Northern European sensibility, it reflects a shared language: restraint, clarity, and respect for fibre. Nothing is excess. Nothing is immediate. Each piece arrives through editing, until only what is essential remains.
