The fiber
Alpaca fiber does not need to be transformed. It needs to be respected.
Our alpaca originates in the high-altitude regions of Arequipa and Puno — where animals roam open landscapes under natural breeding practices, as they always have. The fibre is obtained through careful shearing, following ethical practices that protect the animals and honour the traditions of Andean communities.
In Peru, alpaca is considered a natural gift; an extraordinary resource that brings life and value to many regions of the country. It supports thousands of families, generates sustainable employment, and contributes to the cultural and economic development of rural communities across the Andes.
We work exclusively with certified suppliers aligned with the Responsible Alpaca Standard — because traceability is not a feature. It is the foundation.
People & Craft
Every piece passes through hands that know the fibre.
We work closely with skilled artisans and production partners in Peru and Ecuador who have spent their lives mastering Peruvian natural fibres. Their knowledge is not a resource we use. It is a relationship we maintain.
Small-scale production. Real collaboration. Time and attention at the centre of every piece — not because it is easier, but because it is the only way to make something that means anything.
Designed between Peru and Europe, each piece is developed through a carefully balanced production system that combines specialised workshops, skilled artisans, and controlled manufacturing processes.
The community
Through Hilos Rojos, we invest in the people behind the material.
Hilos Rojos is a foundation dedicated to preserving textile knowledge and supporting artisan communities across Peru. Through this connection, DISOAL contributes to education, women’s economic empowerment, and the continuation of traditional skills that took generations to build.
Each piece we make is part of that commitment. Not as a gesture — as a practice.
What we believe
A garment that lasts is not a product. It is a decision — made once, valued for years.
We do not chase trends. We do not overproduce. We build pieces designed to stay — in your wardrobe, in your life, in the world. That is our version of sustainability. Not a chapter.. A way of working.
